The Beginning

What was your first connection with painting?

Was there a specific moment, artwork, artist, or experience that changed the way you see or create art?

I came into contact with painting when I was very young when my father bought me a box of paints when I was about 6 years old.

a moment that changed my way of seeing things was when I discovered Juan Mirò, the surrealists and especially Francis Bacon.

Choosing Painting as a Life Path

What made you choose painting as a way of life and dedicate

a significant part of your journey to it?

From the moment I started expressing myself through this medium it was like a drug and I could never do without it again

Artistic Language

How would you describe the visual language and main

characteristics of your work?

It's a very slow work that starts from some images that I decide to make coexist with which it is possible to create a reaction.

They are images taken from three different contexts. The element of this encounter is fundamental, this emotional encounter, starting with a realistic painting.

Then little by little I try to contaminate it with a gestural phase and a very slow work that I drag on for years.

Sometimes I destroy what I have done and then take back what remains. It's part of a research like a sort of archaeological discovery.

For me, a painting is never finished, but there is a moment when I prefer to stop.

Inspiration and Motivation

What places, experiences, or ideas do you draw inspiration from?

What continues to motivate you to create, even after years of working as an artist?

I live in a city full of contradictions and it is probably this place that always gives me new ideas that try to alter the reality I see with something else to give a vision in which things at the limit of the possible happen.

what continues to paint me is that through my art I learn to see the world with different eyes and to know myself better and better.

Challenges and Growth

What was a significant challenge you faced during your journey as a painter?

How did that experience influence your development as an artist?

There are always and continuously challenges and this is the beauty of it. In addition to the challenges related to my painting, there are also all the challenges I have in relating to the world of art which is not very easy but this is the beauty of trying to improve and surpass yourself.

Looking Back

If you could speak today with the painter you

were at the beginning of your journey, what would you tell them?

I would tell him well done, you were brave and always tried to be honest with yourself.

Influences and the Conversation Around Painting

Which artist from the past has influenced you the most, and why?

Which contemporary painter do you admire and would

like to introduce to a wider audience?

Among the painters of the past, many were Eronibus Bosch, Paolo Uccello, Diego Velasquez, but above all Piero della Francesca who was a great visionary anticipating a way of seeing things that is still relevant today, full of mystery and wisdom.

Looking Forward

What are you still searching for through painting?

What questions, challenges, or new directions would you like to explore in the future?

Through painting I try to surprise myself, have fun and find meaning in my life

The questions and challenges that will come to me will be dictated by the work I am doing now and I cannot anticipate them otherwise they would lose their meaning of surprise

For the Next Generation

What message would you like to share with painters

who are at the beginning of their journey today?

As a message I can say to never stop trying to be honest with yourself and to dedicate yourself totally to this activity because the satisfactions will come even if difficult moments will come but other beautiful ones will happen.
